1.n Norton Chassis and Fabricated Parts

I am now able to offer a selection of lasercut engine plates to fit both International and SOHC Manx models in both 350cc and 500cc variants. In most cases these plates are replicated from originals and have been trial fitted to frames. It is important to point out however that even with genuine Norton engine plates, it is rare to find two sets of plates exactly the same!, they often had small variations. Because of this, for the most common types I can offer them fully drilled or semi drilled, where the final frame hole is left blank, so you can drill it to fit your own frame and be sure it is correct. If you are not sure which set to buy, I am prepared to offer to send both types, and then if the fully drilled set does fit, you just send back the other set or vica versa. Obviously, while offering this service I do expect you to pay for extra postage to send the unwanted set back to me! I am also increasing the range all the time to include new brackets and fabricated parts, like the oil tank brackets fitted to both Manx wrapround tanks and International half wrapround tanks. In nearly all cases, these parts are modern lasercut and are copied from originals using special scanning software and then replicated using Autocad drawings

This item is for a full set of relacement springs to fit the Norton 'Gardengate' (1938-54) Plunger frame rear plunger units.  They are UK manufactured for us by a specialist spring manufacturer, using a set of genuine original Norton plungers springs as the template.  Price is for a set of 4 springs

This unusual item is a copy of the Norton bakelite steering damper knob - but coloured brown, rather than the standard black colour.  I believe these were originally manufactured by Norton's in this brown colour for the WD 16H (war production) models and are now quite rare to see.  Please note - although nicely made - these are old stock and shop soiled, so may have some marks (see listing for detail).  Price is each

This listing is for a complete headrace bearing set, to fit those Norton models fitted with Norton girder forks - from approximately 1931 to those still being supplied with girder forks in 1946. The set consists of 4 hardened headrace bearings and two sets of ball bearings. Original Norton girder fork headraces were used as the pattern for manufacturing these and all dimensions are the same.  Update Oct 24:  Now Back In Stock.

Lasercut front saddle extension brackets: These two brackets can be riveted to the front frame of reproduction saddles, giving a better fitting point for fitting them to the top frame tube - They are also particularly useful If fitting a Reproduction rubber saddle.  Price is per pair

These are UK manufactured black coated saddle springs (of a slight barrel style) - of the type seen fitted to many Norton models, particularly competition SOHC (International/M30) models through the 1930's and 1940's.  Price is per pair.  See listing for detail and photographs. These are chromed saddle springs of the parallel mount type as fitted to the rigid and plunger Norton frames with the saddle mount lugs going vertical - as per International, SOHC Manx and some pushrod frames (i.e. check your frame does not have its saddle mounts coming out sideways at 90 degree to vertical - which needs a different spring. They are in the correct conical shape and have a free length of approx 4.5". Price per pair. Back in Stock - September 2025

These are chromed saddle springs of the side mount type as fitted to some rigid and plunger Norton frames - particularly some Side Valve and OHV models - identifiable by the seat spring lugs coming out horizontally at 90 degrees.  See detail listing for more information.  These springs still attach to the saddle with vertical bolts, so will fit most large saddle types. overalll length of these springs from the top of the spring to the centre of the side mounting hole is approximately 5.5" length. This is a high quality reproduction of the Pre-War racing 'Moseley Air Cushion' type rear pillion bumpad, as fitted as original equipment on late model Velocette KTT's and also some pre-war Manx Nortons or Norton Internationals.  We have had these replicated exlusively for us from a long established specialist UK upholsterer. This is a high quality reproduction of the small type of bum pad/rear mudguar squab, commonly fitted to 1920's to 1930's sports and racing bikes.  It is smaller than a typical 'Pillion' pad of that era, but would provide extra comfort for a solo rider, as well as giving a very period sports bike look.  They are very nicely made in high quality material, and have a metal base with two central bolt mounts.  See listing for more detailed dimensions. These DOHC Manx Norton type seat cover kits are professionallly hand manufactured in the UK - using a genuine early 1950's Featherbed Manx Norton Seat as the pattern, of the type with a large rounded rear hump.  The covers are made in a high quality durable automotive black vinyl - almost identical to the original material, and also include the period red piping over the top of the hump - just as the original.  The original seat cover components were used as patterns for the new cover pieces - so the stitching pattern and overall look of the finished cover is totally authentic to the original Norton design.  The kit also consists of the correct foam pieces and undercover foam - also copied from the original seat, as well as a full set of 40 large head pop rivets, for fixing the cover to the frame.  And although this is intended a replacement 'cover kit' - as the original early DOHC Manx Norton racing seats are so rare - we also supply two A3 sized drawings with dimensions that will allow the restorer to fabricate an original style steel seat base - if they do not have an original seat themselves.  Finally, we also include in the kit a CD that has numerous pictures of the original unrestored seat and cover - to help with the fabrication of a new base and how the cover looks once in place.  Price is Per Kit, see listing for more detail.  Note Oct 2025:  Now Back In Stock

This is a high quality reproduction of a typical 1930's-40's black 'bum pad' as commonly fitted to many Pre-War sports or racing bikes.  This type is 'Wedged' - i.e. slightly higher on one end than the other, and typical of the type fitted to competition bikes in period.  This bum pad has a steel frame - see detail listing for dimensions and more information and availability.  Price is Each

This is a reproduction rear pillion bumpad of 'generic' type. It is reasonable copy of a period bumpad and can be used either as a pillion pad on rigid/plunger roadgoing Norton's, or as a racing bumpad.

Pack of 4:- 1.0" long x 1/4" Stainless Steel BSC bolts (with plain heads - no writing on them), and these bolts have the special 'Norton type' curved head, popular for various fastenings on Norton single models 1930's/50.s. These front engine plates are for Pre-Featherbed 500cc 30M/Manx models, using magnesium crankcases, and are fabricated using sided jigs (see pictures), to ensure they have the correct offset, form and hole location as original engine plates. All dimensions are copied from an original SOHC 500cc Manx engine plate.  They will also fit 350cc Manx engines manufactured post 1948-1950.  See detail listing for more information

- These rear engine plates are to  laser cut, using original SOHC Manx engine plates as original and are to fit 1935 - 1950 M30/early Manx rigid and plunger chassis with 500cc magnesium crankcases. They will also fit if you have post 48-50 350 Manx crankcases 

- These rear engine plates are laser cut, using original SOHC Manx engine plates as an original and are to fit 1935 - 48 350cc M40/Manx chassis (both rigid and plunger frames)

- These laser cut brackets can be brazed or pressed onto a tube that feeds over the Norton footrest bar if your original brackets are bent or damaged, as so many often are.
