Norton Wheel Bearing - Felt Steel Cup

I am very pleased to be able to offer this very distinctive steel cup, which is pressed into the end of both front and rear Norton hubs on the brake side, and retains the felt washer, to stop grease escaping into the brake drum. As I am sure many of you have found - even if you have one of these available on your own hub, chances are it will be in bad condition if it has previously been prized out and punched back in, when the wheel bearings were last changed. This pressed cup is high quality and identical to the Norton original that was used as the pattern. To fit, place it above the recess on the brake side of the hub, then use a small punch (or screwdriver) to push it into the recess. If your hub recess is worn, you can also put a couple of additional punch marks on the rim of the hub, as per the plunger hub shown here in the second photograph

Thin Width Gearbox and Bevel Stud Spring Washers - 5/16" (per 20)

Used on upright Norton gearbox's, these stainless steel thin width spring washers fit under the blind nut on the front gearbox cover. When locked down, they also look identical to the original 'thin width' washers fitted under bevel casting (reduced head) nuts. They are slightly slimmer than standard 5/16" spring washers. They also have the advantage that being a spring washer, if you have not got the perfect spanner for the rear bevel nuts (which are partly obscured), this spring washer should give you more chance of ensuring the rear nuts do not loosen fully off. Sold as pack of 20 here. These washers are also standard fitment in the BS001 Bevel Stud/Nut set. (Note: we also sell normal width 5/16" washers for normal application - Item number 0509

Camshaft Back Bearing Distance Piece

- This is the distance piece that betweens the cams and the cambox back bearing. It ensures the back bearing inner cage and rollers are sititng centrally in the outer bearing (which is located in the cambox rear cover. Note this distance piece is 55 thou thick, which I find to normally be correct, but you should check yourself that this thickness locates the bearing in the correct position, as this can sometimes vary as there were many slight variations over the years. To help with this, place thick high melting point grease in the outer cage of the back bearing, then trial fit the back cover, you can then see from the marks in the grease if the inner race is in the correct position. This distance piece is also supplied as part of the camshaft bevel shim set.
