Listed here are reproduction parts to fit original Amal (and some Amac) roadgoing carburettors - i.e Type 76/276, 89/289, 376/389, Monobloc and Concentric carburettors, as well as some pre-Amal carb parts - i.e. Amac carbs fitted to Douglas models etc.  

Note some parts are shared wtih those also listed in the Amal TT, Amal RN or Amal GP sections.

This is the distinctively shaped Air Intake bellmouth and filter assembly - as fitted only to Norton OHV and SV model Amal 76/276 type carburettors from the 1930s until the 1950's.  We have had these bellmoouths, filters and spring clips manufactured to the original style and pattern and they can be purchased as a complete assembly (in either bare alloy or matt silver) or components.  See detail listing for more information - and the different items available

This is the clever and distinctive mechanism fitted to Norton roadgoing single cylinder models that were fitted with Amal 276 (seperate floatchamber type) carburettors, from the early 1930's to approximately 1955.  This mechanism allowed the throttle to be lifted easily for cold running.  The assembly consists of adjuster, adjustment block and screw and spring.  This is the later type - with 1/4" BSW thread - see listing for more detail.  Price is Per Assembly

This listing is for a high quality reproduction of the 'lipped' and chromed Inlet Ring and distinctive shaped bolt that were fitted to Amal Type 76 and 276 Stub fitting carburettors, and locked the carburettor to the inllet stub.  Both the ring and bolt are identical to the original patterns, with the inlet ring being chromed brass and the bolt in polished stainless steel.  This item listing is for the smaller size ring - see listing detail for more size information.  Price is per pair

This listing is for the distiinctive shouldered and profiled hex head bolt that fitted to the Inlet ring on Amal Type 76/276 and Type 86/286 Stub Fitting Carburettors - it having the important function of ensuring the carb was securly located to the inlet stub.  These are CNC manufactured by us to the original design in stainless steel and the heads lightly polished. This is for a throttle needle to fit original Amal Type 76 (Pre-War), Type 276 carburettors - i.e. the type with seperate floatchamber fitted to most roadgoing Norton SV,OHV and CJ single cylinder models, up until the end of 1954,  i.e pre-Monobloc.  Price is Each

This is for a throttle needle to fit original Amal Type 29 and 89 (Pre-War) and Type 289 carburettors - i.e. the type with seperate floatchamber, a slighlty bigger version of the 276.  These were fitted to a number of marques in the 30's - 50's, most notably Vincent singles and twins,  up until the end of 1954,  i.e pre-Monobloc.  Price is Each

Nice quality top ring spring to fit original Amal 276/289 and Monobloc carbs - as per original part 4/235.  This spring is retained by a top screw and stops the screw on top ring from unwinding in use.

- This is the throttle cable adjuster and locknut of the type sometimes fitted to later alloy top caps on later Amal TT and GP carbs - The  thread size is 7/32 x 40tpi, which is slightly finer than on some original carbs, so please check. On some carb tops they are non threaded to accept this adjuster, which is a simple mod to the threaded type 

This listing is for a universal type throttle cable of 37^ in length, with nipples fitted either end - to fit most twistgrips and Amal carburettors.  This cable type has an adjuster in the middle of the cable (about 6" below the twistgrip).  Price is Each.

This listing is for a spare Throttle Cable (or choke/air/magneto type cable) outer cable ferrule, and a spare inner cable barrel of the type normally fitted on the twistgrip end of throttle cables.  This item is useful if you have bought a throttle cable (see items 1216 and 1217) and need to then cut the cable to length or fit an adjuster.  Price is per pair.

This very useful little item is a 'Top Hat' Ferrule - to fit original Doherty and other similar throttle twistgrips, which are not threaded at their cable end - and if you are using a throttle cable which has its threaded adjuster in the middle of the cable - therefore this 'Top Hat' ferrule will stop the cable sliding through the twistgrip hole.  CNC manufactured by us in stainless steel.  See item listing for more info.  Price is each

NEW July 2023:  We are now able to offer these copper floats - to fit original Amal carburettors fitted with the Type 14 Float chamber - this include roadgoing Amal Type 76, 276 and 289 carburettors and competition Amal TT and RN carburettors.  These floats are manufactured in the same style as original Amal floats - with two spun copper halfs, soldered in the middle - and a brass tube running through the centre of a float, with a 'press spring' at the top.  See detail listing for more information.  Price is Each

- 4 part tickler kit to fit original Amal TT, RN and 276/289 (standard size) float chambers. This float tickler fits the standard screw in (Type 76) floatchamber top - and is CNC machined by us to the original tickler design and dimensions. Satin nickel plated brass - as per the original items.  See listing for more detail.  

- Tickler spring to fit all Amal seperate floatchamber tickler assemblies.  A common fault with Amal tickler assemblies on Type 276/289 or competition Float chambers (i.e the floatchambers used on TT, RN, GP carbs) is that the original tickler spring either rusts and corrodes, or just compresses after many years of use.  This spring is manufactured to the original dimensions and restores your tickler to its original non-drooping position!. This lock screw is an exact copy of the type fitted to most types of Amal floatchamber screw covers - i.e those floatchambers fitted to Type 276, TT, RN or Dirt Track Carburettors - in fact almost all Amal float chambers that have a screw in top.  

This is the base plug as fitted to the bottom of floatchambers on standard roadgoing Amal 276/289 type carburettors - it may also have been fitted to other Amal model types using seperate floatchambers - see detail listing for more background.  CNC manufactured in stainless steel.  Comes with correct imperial red fibre washer 

Gasket set to fit original (flange fitting) Amal 276 carburettors.  Set consists of 6 nice quality washers.  This set can also be fitted to clip fitting versions of the 276 carb - but obviously  the large flange washer would not be used
