This is a nice quality (UK sourcsed) 7/8" handlebar exhaust valve lifter.  It is of the type normally fitted to all Norton single cylinder models (including SOHC models), and is commonly used to allow the exhaust valve to be llifted so the kickstart can be eased past compression to help starting. This is a 1:1 (non-reversing) rev clock gearbox that can be fitted to any of our outer timing covers - and most other British motorcycles using this style of rev clock mount. This item is for a 28" length (Chronometric) Speedometer Cable - of the original Norton pre-war type, where the speedometer drive gear was mounted on the front wheel and the speedometer drive cable was rubber sheathed.  Most roadgoing Norton singles (from late 1920s onwards until Post-War) had this configuraion and this type of speedometer cable provides the ultimate in originality for your pre-war Norton model.  We take a good quality proprietary speedometer cable, and add our own oil resistent black rubber sheathing, and stainless steel ferrules - the finished result is that authentic pre-War look.  See detail listing for more information.
