This listing is for a high quality A4 Format facsimile of the 1955 Norton Spare Parts Catalog for the single cylinder ES2 and Model 19 Swinging Arm (pre-Featherbed) and Model 19 Rigid Framed models. It is reproduced from a very nice condition original catalog - with all bemishshes removed, and is in A4 format - fractionially larger than the original Norton format, making it very easy to read.

As with all our facsimile Norton catalogs - this catalog is copied from an original Norton catalog, but has had much careful work to remove unsightly blemishes and marks - so it looks particularly crisp and clean. Interestingly - with this particular catalog - the original red card front cover had a dealers sticker over it, stating a 15% price increase, but then a further typed increase. Finally that has been crossed out and someone has hand written - to see the Master Price List! I suspect this particular catalog may have been a Dealers copy - but it added an interesting insite to how this period of catalog may have been current for more than one year (I dont believe they printed a seperate 1956 Spare Parts List for these models) - and Norton used to send them out with price increase stickers on them! - Therfore we have left the sticker and the writing on the cover for this reason.
As far as models were concerned: this Spare Parts List covers the single cylinder 'Swinging Arm' (pre-Featherbed chassis) 500cc ES2 and 600cc Model 19 models. It also covers the last 'Rigid' framed model that Norton made - the Model 19R (which I think at that time was being offered almost exclusively as a sidecar tug). Both chassis types by this time were using the 'Laydown' type Norton gearbox, which meant the chassis both had the different rear frame plates and lugs that were required when using this laydown gearbox (the previous 1948 and 1950 Spare Parts catalogs both showed chassis intended for Norton upgright gearbox) It also shows some interesting smaller details - like pictures of the original Norton sidestands offered at the time.
The original catalog (shown in one of the photos alongside our facsimile) was offered in an unusual paper size - its width being approximately A5, but it being vertically bigger than A5. As this paper size is no longer available - we have reproduced this facsimile in full A4 size (slightly bigger than the original) - and this makes it very clear and crisp to read. We have replicated the original red card cover.
The catalog is 32 pages in total. It is printed in A4 Landscape format on high quality Xerox paper of a similar grade to the original paper, as with all our facsimile catalogs. It comes in a sealable bag to protect it in storage.
