Norton OHV/SV (and some CS1 models) Tapered Type Valve Collets - Pair (i.e. to fit one valve)

Valve Collets to fit all OHV and SV Norton models - i.e. Norton ES2, Model 18, Model 19, Model 50, Model 55, Norton 16H, Big 4 etc.  Collets are high quality CNC machined in-house.  Sold as a joined pair (i.e. to fit one valve) 

These collets are to fit 'tapered' Norton 3/8" valve shafts - as fitted to most OHV and SV Norton single cylinder models from the 1930's through to the late 1950's. The term 'tapered' means that these collets were designed to fit those 3/8" valves which had a tapered groove for the collet (as opposed to most SOHC Arthur Carroll International engines - which normally used 'parrallel' groove collets).  

These tapered type collets are correct fit for our OHV Valves (our Item 0678) and Side Valve Valves (our Item 0800).

Note - Some SOHC CS1 models were sometimes retrospectively fitted with OHV (ES2) valves, that allowed for this type of tapered collet to be used - as most CS1 models used the same Coil valve springs as ES2 models.  If you have a CS1 model with coil springs and are unsure - you can email me on paul.norman@racingvincent.co.uk to confirm dimensions

Sold as a joined pair (i.e. to fit one valve), meaning they are not fully split in halves - when you  are ready to fit them, just split them with a small screwdriver and lightly file the two small joining tabs.  Collets are always sold this way, to ensure they are fitted as a matched pair .  Two (pairs) required per engine.

Note:  We also sell OHV valves and coil spring top/bottom cup plates and springs - all designed to be fitted together to an OHV Norton single cylinder engine - all parts being to original pattern and same dimensions as originals.

We also sell very early OHV/Walter Moore CS1 (i.e 1920s) conical type valve caps - in the first two types (1924/28 small type and 1928/32 larger conical type) - both which will accept this collet type, providing a tapered collet type valve (i.e. ES2 valve) is being used
