It should be noted that Norton themselves actually used a 0.5" Stud with nuts both ends for this bolt on roadgoing models - but that was probably for convenience, so this bolt is manufactuered as a Hex head bolt, with a nut on just one end (as per the Manx equivelant, but with rounded head).
