1.g Norton ES2/16H/OHV/SV Parts

Correct (and as per original) 1/4" BSP 'One Way Valve' - as fitted to all Norton singles, including all SOHC, OHV and SV models - this item screwing into the recess just above the drive side main bearings, allowing the engine to breathe correctly. July 2023: Now back in Stock 

This is the oil delivery or return union that was fitted to the crankcases of most pre 1950 OHV and SV crankcases (as well as breathers on some of the SOHC models).  These look just as per the Norton items and are CNC machined by us in brass (as most originals were). Price is Each.

These Red Fibre Washers are a smaller diameter than 'normal' 1/4" BSP washers - but then pre-threaded by us - so they are a good fit on those Norton fittings that used 1/4" BSP thread, but have a groove behind the thread - e.g. Norton pre-48 Oil Sump Plugs and some breather union fittings.  See detail listing for more information.  This listing is for a bag of 5 washers

This is the small red fibre gasket that was fitted on to the lipped steel union on the outside of the gear oil pump fitted to all Side Valve and Overhead Norton models - and connected the oil feed to the outer timing cover.  We supply 2 x normal thickness as well as 3rd thinner washer -  See detail listing for more information

This is a complete crankcase and timing chest cheesehead screw set for 1930's to 1947 type OHV and Side Valve Norton single cylinder models - i.e. Model 18, ES2, Mod 19, 16H and Big 4.  It consists of full timing case inner and outer cheeseheads, Inner timing case countersink screws and crankcase sump cheesehead screw (as well as red fibre backing washers) - all of these being CNC barturned in stainless steel to the original perod Norton dimensions and head pattern.  See detail listing for  more information.  New Batch Due Feb 2025 (but please note - I have not calculated new cost yet.  . . but can be ordered/reserved now if required)

This is a complete rockerbox cheesehead screw set for 1938 to 1947 type OHV Norton single cylinder models - i.e. Model 18, ES2, Mod 19, Mod 50.  It consists of the cheeseheads that surround the rockerbox cover, red fibre washers for these, the extra long tappet cover cheesehead screws (fitted only to this Norton single model) and stainless washers to go with these tappet screws - all of these being CNC bar-turned in stainless steel to the original period Norton dimensions and head pattern.   New Batch Due Feb 2025 (but please note - I have not calculated new cost yet.  . . but can be ordered/reserved now if required)

This item is the distinctively shaped twin hole top pushrod rubber seal that was fitted to all OHV 1938-47 models.  This model had its pushrod tubes closer together than the later and more common 48-56 OHV models, and this rubber seal is now extremely difficult to find.  Ours are manufactured specially for us from high quality oil resistent nitrile rubber.  See listing for more information.  Price is each.

These are the two countersink screws of the type used on pre-war up to 1947 OHV and Sidevalve Norton single engines, which screwed into the inner timing cover behind the magneto chain.  These screws share the same dimensions and thread as the original Norton screws. This item is the 15 tooth Norton single magneto chain sprocket on the engine side - that drives the chain to the magneto sprocket, it fits on the end of the oil pump drive gear (SOHC models) or inlet cam (OHV and SV models). These sprockets are manufactured to to the original Norton profile, and were as used on most Norton single cylinder models (i.e. SOHC, OHV and SV singles) from the 1930's to late 1950's.   Price is Each.

This listing is for a stainless steel mgneto sprocket (engine side) nut as fitted to the SOHC oil drive gear spindle, or the OHV/SV camshaft spindle.  These nuts are same thread and dimensions as original.  Price is per nut

This item is the 15 tooth magneto sprocket that was fitted to most Norton single cylinder models from the 1930's to late 1950's (i.e. SOHC, OHV and SV models) and fits on the end of the magneto shaft (either Lucas Magdyno or BTH KD1 fitment). These items are just the same in profile as original sprockets - the magneto sprocket being recessed, just as the original Norton item.  Price is Each. 

This listing is for the special shouldered sprocket nut that was fitted to Lucas Mag/Dyno units - on all roadgoing Norton single cylinder models (but also many other makes of British motorcycles using a Lucas Mag/dyno unit, original part number 24-0195.  This nut is plated steel.  Price is Each

Genuine Renolds magneto chain and one soft link, to fit OHV and SV (Mod 18, ES2, 19, 16H, Big4 etc) models manufactured between 1938 to 1959 with 44 links. (but not WD type 16H - see listing for details)

Genuine Renolds magneto chain and one soft link, to fit 1930's (up to 1938) OHV and SV (Mod 18, ES2, 19, 16H, Big4 etc) with 42 links. Note, these chains should use a riveted (soft link), not a circlip link. 

This item is a genuine Renolds 'soft' link to fit a magneto chain. This type of rivetable link is always preferable to a 'split' type link and would have been fitted orignally. All our Norton magneto chains come supplied with one of these 'soft/rivetable links, but we also sell them separtely here - and it is often handy to keep a couple in your toolbox.  See listing for details.  Price is per soft link and plate.

This item is a Renolds 'split' link to fit a magneto chain. 

First and foremost i would say it is not recommended to fit a half link (or link and a half as it actually is), but I know that on some rare occasions you may have an unusual timing covers where the chain can either be too slack/tight with standard links. Therefore this item is for a Reynolds link and a half to fit Norton magneto chains

This unusual but distinctive looking plate/washer, was fitted on the Timing side of the Lucas MagDyno magneto platform bolt on all OHV and Side Valve models - and helped ensure that when the magneto bolt was fully tightened in the 'slotted' engine plate, it spread the load, to help prevent the magneto slipping and mag chain tension being lost.  An original Norton item was used as the pattern for this item.  See listing for more detail

This item is for a spare spring - of the type that were fitted into the distinctive 'Clack Valve' breathers in 1920's OHV and Walter Moore CS1 breathers - an original dismantled clack valve (shown in photo) providing the spring pattern.  We will shortly be manufacturing the complete breather/clack valve unit.  See listing for more information.  Price is per spring

These are modern circlips of the same size as fitted to standard Norton pistons - i.e 0.875" gudgeon pins, incase like me you sometimes buy 'New Old Stock' pistons at autojumbles, but the circlips are missing
