This listing is for the unusual vertical spring clip that was fitted to early Amac carburettor float needles. Identifiable by the spring having a vertical style orientation (rather than the later Amal clip horizontal orientation), these clips are very difficult to find
Price is each
These unusually shaped and profiled spring clips were fitted to many Amac carbs (i.e. pre 1927) - particularly to the Douglas 2 3/4hp Amac HYK carb shown in the photograph. The float needle on this type of Amac floatchamber needle (as shown in one of the photographs) has a much deeper grrove to accept this type of spring clip than the later Amal type (76/276) float needle, whick only had a narrow groove.
Therefore this particular spring clip is much wider in its vertical plane - and has a clever 'locking' clip - which is just visible in one of the photographs - looking down at the clip fitted in the open floatchamber, by pressing the spring in - it locks the spring clip onto the needle.
These spring clips are manufactured just as the original items and are now very rare to find.
