These are the distinctive top bolts that retain the Girder Fork top clamp plate on the Norton rubber handlebar mount type girder forks - they are shown pictured with an original girder fork top clamp visible in the photo.
The same bolt type were also fitted to the earlier (non-rubber mounted type) top clamps (not shown) - but for that clamp type the bolts were placed closer together.
These bolts have 'Reduced Hex' type heads - i.e the hex spanner size is smaller than would normally be fitted to imperial bolts of this thread size (5/16" x 26tpi), and because of this, those hex heads were deeper than normal - something Nortons did quite frequently - to allow good spanner purchase. These bolts have been CNC manufactured to the original Norton dimensions and include the distinctive head curvedprofile - copied from an original Norton pre-war pattern.
These are CNC manufactured in stainless steel with lightly linished hex flats and a polished head. Unlike the similar top girder fork retaining bolt (Item 1228), they have also have a fractional chamfer under the bolt head, to prevent them ripping the paint on the top clamp plate - a common issue on these bolts.
Price of these is Each, and four are fitted per top clamp - when fitting to girder forks wtih the rubber mount top plate casting. The earlier non-rubber mounted type also requred four bolts, but were mounted closer togeher.
Note: we have also manufactured a few of the same bolt with drilled heads - for if fitting to M30/M40 competition models - see Item 1227
