Black Gloss Front Rim: 19 Inch WM1 40 Hole - For 7" Brake (or 8" pre-war M30) Single Sided Hub Type

English made, good quality steel WM2 19" 40 spoke rim, with spoke hole offset suitable for Norton single sided 7" (or 8" inch type - see detail listing for more information)- which instead of being chromed, is Gloss Black Powder coated, as was common with many British bikes in the 1930's/40's. 

This rim is a 19" version of the similar 21" black powder coated rim we already offer (0291B) to fit the pre-War Norton International single sided (7" brake) - we have offered this version for those of you that wish to fit a 19" front rim, which gives a better tyre choice in the modern world.  It also allows anyone that has a postwar OHV/SV 7" inch single sided hub wheel bike to allow have black rims fitted - as that hub type was standard fitting on most OHV/SV models immediately postwar, and black rims were sometimes still supplied on immediately post-war models.

Note:  If you own a pre-war OHV/SV or CS1 and wish to fit a 19" black powder coated rim - please confirm what type of hub/brake drum you have fitted first before ordering.  If you have the 'cottom reel' style hub, with bolt on brake hub (normally with brake drum mounted on left side) - then you need to order Item 0292B . . . because that 19" rim has the spoke offset for a Cotton reel hub (fitted both front and back on some pre-war models).  This listing is for the same diameter rim - but for a hub with offset for the spokes to go to the brake drum on one side. 

Final point with these black rims - you often see period photographs where the spokes are also painted black (but nipples normally left plated) - to do this yourself, make up a wooden block with drill holes, then place spokes into the holes thread first and they can then be black sprayed all together. I may be able to obtain black spokes - but would be special order. (note: photo actually shows a black powder coated WM2 rear rim - but the WM1 black rim will have exactly the same finish)
