Upright Gearbox Clutch Worm Lever Arm and Bolt

This is a faithful reproduction of the Clutch Worm Lever Arm and the special 'reduced head' bolt that is fitted to all Norton upright gearbox's from early 1930's to 1950. It slides over the the eccentric worm spindle and can be adjusted then locked to maintain the correct tension of the clutch lever cable. Both the arm and the special reduced head bolt are faithful copies of the original Norton items, and if I say so myself look really nice quality. The casting is a 'Lost Wax' casting, the patterns been copied from an original arm - lost wax giving a finer finish than a sand casting (but more expensive to reproduce). The reduced head bolt is also identical, and matched to the arm, including the shouldered face that matchs the coutersink in the arm. The only variation from original is that they are both manufactured in stainless steel, with the arm having a satin finish similar to an original. They are the finishing touch to a pre-war Norton gearbox restoration (and look great when also fitted with our stainless end nuts) - particularly as originals are now getting extremely hard to find. The second photograph shows an original arm fitted to a Manx gearbox, so you can see that ours are identical! (note the same arm is also employed on the SOHC exhaust lifter, although Norton gave them a different reference number!). Sorry they are not cheap, but the price reflects the high cost of having patterns made for casting the arm and the expense of lost wax castings

Norton AMC Type Gear Lever

Nice reproduction of the AMC type Norton (short gear lever). This was fitted to the later (approx. 58 onwards) AMC type gearbox, that followed, the Kidney style (flat type) Norton gearbox. It was fitted to late Norton DOHC Manx and Norton Domintaor's. Unfortunately it has a smaller diameter knurled hole than the type fitted to earlier Norton Upright and Kidney type gearbox's, so cannot be used for this type (I am still trying to find a supplier of short SOHC Manx type

Gearbox Linkage or Girder Fork Checkspring Clevis Pins - Pair

These are the clevis pins that are used to connect the gear linkage on Norton gearbox's between the positive stop selector mechanism and the main gearbox selector plate. If your gear selection is sloppy in any way, wear in these clevis pins is always the first thing to check - and it can provide a quick and cheap improvement! These are also the same clevis pins that are used to retain Norton Girder Fork checksprings to the forks. Price is for a pair (2) of clevis pins

Norton Chaincase Rubber Seal - Normal Type

This item is the rubber seal that fits around the circumference of the Norton inner chaincase, and provides n oil seal to the Norton type pressed steel oil bath. This particular type is the standard width type fitted SOHC (and all road going models from the early 1930's through to the late 1950's. The width of the rubber seal is 7/8" (20mm).

Norton Chaincase Rubber Seal - Slim Type

Similar to item 0358, this is the seal that fits around the inner timing case to seal the oil in Norton pressed steel oilbath chaincases. This item is less wide than the more normal type (item 0358), being 5/8" (15mm) wide and may have been fitted to early chaincases (perhaps 1920's type chaincases?, my supplier lists them as 16H type?), however, just like Item 0358, they fit well around the standard type 1930's - 1950's chaincases (see Photos)

Norton Chaincase Central Retaining Washer (Stainless Steel)

This distinctive heavyweight pressed steel washer retains the Norton pressed steel outer chaincase centrally, in conjunction with the central securing nut (A2/495) which I also hope to offer shortly. It is item No 15 in the second picture, taken from the 48 Spare Parts Catalog) These washers often get distorted over the years, so that the lip is not able to exert full pressure - which in turn means the chaincase is more likely to leak oil. This washer, as well as being an exact copy of the original profile, has a distinct lip which should ensure best chance of ensuring a fully retained chaincase. Norton SOHC - Primary Chain and Split Link

This is a high quality Renolds primary chain, and Renolds split link to fit a Norton SOHC engine, with standard Norton clutch basket diameter (i.e. either International or Manx). Note: standard SOHC International/Manx primary chains are listed as 76 Links in the 1948 Norton spares catalog. Our chains are 78 links (including the split link), so you can fit the chain to be sure - in case using a larger than standard engine sprocket. Then once trial fitted you can remove the extra link(s) with a chain splitter/angle grinder, if not required. Also: It is always stated that primary chains are less prone to breakage if fitted with a riveted 'soft link', rather than a 'split link'. This is particularly true if using the primary chain on a racing machine, using just a chain cover rather than the oil bath. However, although we cannot recommned the split link over the soft (rivetable) link, we understand that most customers prefer the split link for ease of fitting - so these come with the chain as default. We do sell the soft (rivetable) links as well though as a seperate item

Norton SOHC - Primary Chain Half Link

Renolds half link for Norton Primary Chain. First and foremost, I would say it is not considered good practice to fit half (or one and a half) links to primary chains. However, if you find that fitting a different toothed sprocket leaves you with a difficult range of adjustment, then this half link may be used - at least until normal chain stretch allows for it to be removed. Note: these are half links . . . which are quite unusual. It is more usual to fit a 'link and a half' which we also sell seperately. However, these are available if a link and half will result in too long a chain.

Norton Chaincase Attachment Bolt Washer - Pair

Lasercut and then dull nickel plated washers to fit the 5.16" stud/bolt that sits between the rear engine plate and inner chaincase on Norton singles. These wide washers help stop deforming the chaincase and one was originally fitted (see Item 10 on the attached exploded diagram taken from the 1948 catalog). Only one is shown in the picture, but if one is put behind the chaincase as well it can help stop the chaincase being deformed. I have found the same size difficult to find commercially so had these made. Price is for a pair
